Two Summers World Travel

From the pyramids of Egypt to the beaches of Spain, the glaciers of Antarctica to the mountains of China, ours is a vast and diverse world simply begging to be explored. With so many vacation destinations, it's difficult to choose just one. With timeshares, you might not have to. Many vacationers shy away from timeshares for fear that they'll be tied down to one location for the rest of their contract. However, the opposite is actually true. One of the greatest benefits of timeshares is their inherent flexibility. In fact, it's estimated that nearly 70% of timeshare owners use their vacation property to travel to destinations other than their "home resort." Their flexibility comes from the way timeshare usage is structured.

Timeshares are a way to cut down on the economic responsibility of property ownership to the individual or family. When you buy timeshare you're really buying the right to use a piece of vacation property for a specified amount of time, generally every year or every other year. Because you're essentially purchasing time, rather than tangible property, it's very easy to trade this time in your home destination for time anywhere else in the world.

There are a couple of different methods that timeshare owners use to travel. The most traditional method is to find a property in a locale that you know and love. If you know that you'll want to return there again and again, it makes sense to purchase a timeshare so as to secure yourself with weeklong annual or biennial vacations. However, if you ever do get that urge to travel somewhere new and different, you can trade your week within an exchange company for a week anywhere in the world. Of course, in order to do this, you'll want to ensure, before you buy, that your timeshare is affiliated with an expansive exchange company like Resort Condominiums International (RCI) or Interval International (II). These companies are the largest and therefore offer the most flexibility and travel options.

If you've found a location that you've fallen in love with, the above method works well. But if you'd rather explore several different locales every year, you might want to buy timeshare with what's called a vacation club. These clubs work kind of like a combination between exchange companies and traditional timeshares. But rather than sell timeshare at a specific resort, vacation clubs make a wide array of destinations available to the owner every year. With a vacation club, you can visit the beaches of Hawaii one year, the ancient ruins of Mexico the next, and the slopes of Aspen the year after, without ever having to concern yourself with exchanging your week. Timeshares can take you all over the world, and help you save money in the process. Consider your lifestyle, and see if timeshares are right for you.
